WHAT IS MICROCEMENT? LET US EXPLAIN...
Microcement is a modern day alternative to polished concrete flooring. A great product which can be utilised in both residential and commercial environments.
Microcement, also commonly called Micro-concrete, Micro-screed or polished cement, is a polymer rich cement based, trowel applied coating. Microcement has a wide range of applications and is extremely versatile, common applications for example are: walls, stairs, floors, worktops and even swimming pools. With correct preparation Microcement can be applied to almost any surface including tiles, wood and existing concrete screeds.
Microcement has seen a big increase in popularity, especially among interior designers and architects who are looking to achieve and industrial concrete interior where it would not normally be possible with traditional building methods. One of the main benefits of Microcement is the free, flowing seamless aesthetic means there are no grout lines or silicone joins to discolour and look unsightly in years to come.
Microcement is a great choice for Kitchens, Bathrooms, wet rooms, living areas and offices because of the ability to completely customise the finish that is achieved. The client has the opportunity to choose the colour, tone and style of the Microcement meaning that no one floor is ever the same.

MICROCEMENT COLOURS AND STYLES

Microcement colours - Fortis Microcement is available in a wide range of colours (see colour chart below). Some of our most popular colours are: Concrete grey, light grey, storm grey and soft grey.
Microcement Textures - Our Microcement comes in two different textures, Natural grain and fine grain. Natural grain gives a slighly more authentic concrete appearance with some pitting and porosity. Fine grain on the other hand gives a completely smooth finish, resembling a highly polished surface.
Microcement Styles - The way in which we apply the Microcement changes the appearance of the finished floor. For example we can install the Microcement to give a very plain finish, a smokey / cloudy effect with some variation in the lights and darks and a very rustic effect with burnish marks.
